Hi Bartman:
Here is a good source for info on converting FoxPro 2.x application in to
VFP:
http://foxproadvisor.com/doc/05239
Also, this is a link to an older white paper on converting from FoxPro 2.x
to VFP 5.0. While the information is a little old, much of it is still
applicable to later versions:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/archive/default.asp?url=/archive/en-us/dnarfoxgen/
html/msdn_movfox.asp
I hope this helps.

Post by Jay Byes, everything is backward compatible.
although the old way of doing input screens will still work,
you probably wont be happy with the results.
I strongly encourage you to learn how to recreate all your input forms
from scratch using the new FORM technology,
and that will be the hardest thing to get used to, but pretty easy once
you get the hang of it!
i believe you can download a demo of VFP to play with from Microsoft.
Good luck and enjoy! Jay
I have been a long time 'enthusiast' using Foxpro 2.6 for DOS and windows. I
am now contemplating upgrading to VFP 9.
Are the toos I am used to still available i.e command window, woks with
DBASE data file, the ols style command like SET FILTER BROWSE etc etc ?
Thanks
